James Prentice

Associate

James Prentice is an Associate Attorney at the firm with a concentration in the areas of medical malpractice, professional liability, general civil defense litigation, and appellate law. Originally born and raised in Elkins, West Virginia, Mr. Prentice graduated from Marshall University in 2020 and 2021, respectively receiving his Bachelor of Business Administration and his Master of Science. Subsequently, he received his Juris Doctorate from West Virginia University College of Law in 2024. Mr. Prentice has been a dedicated employee of the firm since 2018, working in various part-time roles while studying for his undergraduate, graduate, and legal education. He is a diligent member of the firm’s complex litigation team and routinely assists in high-stakes cases. While assisting in these cases, Mr. Prentice has been rewarded with valuable experience in drafting written discovery, various pretrial motions, dispositive motions, appellate briefs, and petitions for extraordinary remedies. Mr. Prentice is committed to continuing to expand the breadth of his skills and competence through providing exceptionally diligent advocacy to healthcare providers, businesses, and individuals throughout the State of West Virginia.
